One of The Quangle Wangle Choir's songs this year was Le Temps des fleurs ie The Time of Flowers (better known in the UK as Those Were the Days.)

Julie Ellis painted these flowers to take us through the year. Click on a flower in the clock-calendar above to see what we did that month.

March 14th: Brendan Taaffe

Singing workshop from 7 - 9.30

Those who came to Brendan's workshop with us a couple of years ago had spread the word so we had a great turn-out of 63 participants! Have a look at his website to get an idea of the territory. A memorable evening of music-making.

April

Weymouth Choral Society invited us to be their guests and made us very welcome. Each choir enjoyed listening to the other and joining together for some numbers. Soloists Jodie and Chloe Tripp, and Louse Dukes were a treat for everyone.

Lucky us! 27 Quangles sailed away to the beautiful south coast of Brittany for the weekend of 28th April to 1st May. The choir of Trinité-sur-mer, (see trinichoeur.free.fr ), hosted us and gave a joint concert with us, complete with lilies of the valley for the Fête du muguet

We were made very welcome by the team at St. Nicholas church, who had rounded up a really good audience. Sunday afternoon is a lovely time to do a concert. Many of us topped off the afternoon with a cream tea in the sunshine at the Abbey House.

There are 3 ingredients that make for a perfect Cruise Croon - good weather, an absence of background engine noise and passengers who come out and listen as we sing on the quayside. On this particular evening we did at least have beautiful weather!

Great turn-out on Thursday and there's nothing like pinning on a rose to put you in a good mood. Beautiful place to sing - both aesthetically and acoustically.

Singing outside can be tricky, but with perfect weather, a crowd of attentive listeners and the Greenhill Gardens bandstand keeping the sound of our voices from drifting out to sea, this was a delightful afternoon.

We travelled simultaneously East and back in time with a steam train journey in Purbeck, stopping to sing at Corfe Castle and Swanage. No fish paste sandwiches in our picnic but otherwise a very Enid Blyton day out.

Hello Suzy!

This was be the second time Sylvia King  asked us to give a concert at her birthday party, so we must have done something right the first time.

Happy Birthday Sylvia - not to mention Fijne Verjaardag, Buon Compleanno, Joyeux Anniversaire and Alles Gute zum Geburtstag!

As autumn turned into winter and the season of mellow fruitfulness gave way to the season of foggy chill we  learnt new repertoire and revisited old favourites in preparation for Christmas
